Concert Choir singers develop musical skills through the use of folk songs, traditional music, and singing games. Singers are trained to listen, echo, match pitch, and improvise with the singing voice, pitched instruments, and non-pitched instruments. The singing voice, sight singing, and notation reading are emphasized along with correct posture, breathing techniques, and vocal production. Concert Choir singers also work with Leslie Timmons. Ms.Timmons is on the staff of the USU Music Dept. and is an Orff-Schulwerk specialist. |
