Homework:

¯     Read and sign the Policies and Expectations.

¯     Look over the calendar with your parents.

 

Announcements:

 

¯     Wednesday is a soprano sectional. It will be in the Tippetts Gallery.

¯     Monday there is no rehearsal because of Labor Day.

¯     Next Wednesday, Sept. 8, we will have a Tutti Sectional (everyone comes.)

¯     We will have a VERY important meeting for singers and their parents during the last fifteen minutes of our rehearsal on Sept. 8th. We will discuss the Washington D.C. tour. I’ll give you an estimated cost and tentative itinerary. Be sure you have at least one parent there.

¯     I’m attaching the Policies and Expectations again in case you haven’t read and signed it.

¯     The calendar is also attached. Be sure to look over it with your parents or singers and put everything in your calendar.

¯     Be sure to bring in any music you may have from last year. We don’t want to charge you for it;)

Class meets all Mondays except holidays.  This list is for Wednesdays, extra rehearsals, and performances.

Sep 1 - soprano

Sep 8 - tutti (everyone!)

Sep 15 - seconds

Sep 22 - altos

Sep 29 - tour rehearsal

Oct 6 - sop and high 2s

Oct 13 - no rehearsal

Oct 20 - altos and low 2s

Oct 27 - tour

Nov 3 - soprano 

 Nov 10 - seconds

Nov 17 - altos

Nov 24 - no rehearsal

Dec 1 - tutti

Dec 3 - USU Women's Choir performance 

Dec 4 - Logan Tabernacle rehearsal in morning, performance in evening

Dec 15 - Season's Greetings Concert

Dec 20 - caroling at nursing homes

  • Jill DeVilbiss-Cantate Choir Director

    Jill has degrees from Utah State University in Vocal Performance and Pedagogy, and Choral Education. She has completed all three levels of the Kodaly Course for Children's Music and all three levels of Orff Musicianship Training. She teaches music at Edith Bowen Laboratory School.

 

  • Merrilee Wells-Cantate Choir Accompanist

    Merrilee Broadbent started playing the piano when she was 3 yrs. old, accompanying in the first grade, and gave her first solo recital at age nine.  Since that time she has played for musicals, oratorios, operas, All-state choir, All-Northwest choir, competitions and many small ensembles and soloists.  She studied for many years with Teala Bellini of Twin Falls, Idaho, as well as Del Parkinson.  She has been an accompanist as well as a co-director with the Cache Children's Choir for many years and is glad to be part of such a great organization.
